Oberlin-Funeral service for Lou Wilda Manuel, 84, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 3-9 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 with the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Lulu was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball. Lulu enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren; as well as other local children. She loved to go eat Chinese food and crawfish. She was not afraid to speak her mind. Lulu loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Frances Nursing Home and Brighton Bridge Hospice for all of their compassion, care, and love.

Those left to cherish Lulu's memory include her two sons, Keith Manuel and wife, Jennifer, of Oberlin, and Tony Manuel of Oberlin; three daughters, Dená Marcantel and husband, Keeta, of Kinder, Becky Manuel of Oberlin, and Cindy Manuel of Kinder; one brother, "Nookie" Montou of Oberlin; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Lulu is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Alma Montou; spouse, Joseph B.O. Manuel; and two brothers, Larry John Montou and Rogers Montou.
