Elton-A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Elton Assembly of God, 4281 Powell Road, Elton, honoring the life of Linnea Lynn Hackett Hernandez, 51, of Kinder, LA.  Linnea returned to her heavenly home on October 1, 2021 after a valiant battle with Covid.  Linnea was completely devoted to her life in Christianity.  Linnea extended that devotion to her Church Family.  She loved the Lord and faithfully served her Church in Elton, Louisiana.

Linnea was born August 20, 1970 to Hugh Hackett and Cleta (Sue) Hunt. She grew up in Arlington, Texas where she shared many fond memories with her siblings.  After high school, she worked with her mom, Cleta, at Copart Auto Auctions.  In October of 2005, Linnea married Joe John Hernandez in Grand Prairie, TX.  A few years later they were called to Louisiana to serve the church, which they did lovingly and graciously.  Linnea had a very sweet and giving spirit.  Up to the time of her passing, Linnea was the secretary at Elton Assembly of God in Elton, LA.  Linnea loved to pray for others, worked for the church in many capacities, and enjoyed being involved with the lady's ministry.  Linnea and her husband, Joe John, enjoyed cookouts and playing cards with friends on the weekends.  Linnea's favorite restaurant was Olive Garden for special occasions.  Linnea stayed in touch constantly with her mother, Cleta, who is a resident of a nursing home in Grapevine, Texas. When she had a chance to video chat with her mother and other relatives, she liked to get a laugh by inserting funny filters during those video calls.  Linnea will be remembered for her invariable smile and servant's heart.  She expressed her love and concern for her husband even during her final days fighting Covid pneumonia.  Linnea will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Linnea's memory include her husband, Joe John Hernandez of Kinder, LA; her mother, Cleta Hunt of Grapevine, TX; three brothers, Doug Hackett of McKinney, TX, Donald Hunt of Frisco, TX, and Michael Hunt of Corinth, TX; one sister, Charolete Davis of Bedford, TX; and a host of extended family and friends.

Linnea is preceded in death by her father, Hugh Hackett; her stepfather, Don Hunt; and her son, Lenzy Schufford.

The family will hold an additional memorial service in honor of Linnea at 11 a.m. on October 16, 2021 at Covenant Church of Colleyville, 3508 Glade Rd, Colleyville, TX 76034.
