Pine Prairie- Funeral service for Joseph Walter Greer, age 80, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church.  Rev. Kevin West will officiate.  Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Friendship Baptist Church in Pine Prairie on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Joseph was a carpenter most of his life and also worked in the construction industry.  He loved to hunt, especially for deer and squirrel.  He also enjoyed fishing.  His favorite place to be was outside in his yard and in his garden.  Joseph will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish Joseph's memory include his sisters, Dorothy Martin and Joy Deville, both of Pine Prairie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joe S. and Eula M. Greer; one brother, Jack Greer; and four sisters, Willie, Glenda, and Penny Greer and Velma McGee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Keith Boone, Glen Holden, Reese Deville, Anthony Deville, Braxton Willis, and Adam Holden.
