Annie affectionately known as "Nana", was a kind and generous soul who ably embodied the roles of wife, mother, nana, aunt, sister and friend. Her life became much better when her grandchildren were born as they were the love of her life and she was so proud of the adults they have become.
Annie married the love of her life, Lenard Chapman, in 1957 and together they built a family. Life wasn't always easy or perfect but despite that, she lived a full and rewarding life. She loved to travel with her sisters and cousins and visiting her family in Arizona. She always stayed busy as there was always something to do or a project to complete.
She was a wonderful cook. Many a weekend was spent enjoying the company of her family and friends around the dining room table making memories. Most are gone now, but her labor of love and the way she showed her affection will never be forgotten. She spent time working with her aunt, cooking for camps at Uskichitto Retreat Center and South Beauregard School for ball games and made more memories. She spent several years participating in the Food Bank Ministry at Six Mile Pentecostal Church, where she was also "Nana", and cherished the privilege and joy she received from that as well as the friendships that were formed.
She served her Lord with much faith and commitment, always working hard to raise money for various needs and projects within the churches she considered very special to her. She was an encouragement to others and never stayed "down" long herself as there was always too much to do for "The Kingdom"! Annie personified generosity and was a giver to all in need. She taught perseverance by holding on when life was most difficult. She demonstrated her faith by being stedfast in what she knew to be right and true. She showed mercy because she truly believed you reap what you sew and wanted that same mercy extended to her. She believed in allowing feelings to be felt but then it was time to get over it! At the end of the day, she could sleep knowing all was well in her life and soul. Annie will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten; a beautiful gem that will gleam long after this ink fades.
Those left to cherish Annie's memory include one son, Jarvis Chapman of Topsy; one daughter, Paige Rowell of Topsy; two grandchildren, Mason and Shelby Rowell of Topsy; and one brother, A.J. Reeves and wife, Debbie of Moss Bluff.
Annie is preceded in death by her parents, Newton "Tach" and Thelma Reeves; husband Lenard Chapman; one brother, L.J. Reeves; and three sisters, Winnie Eaves, Margaret Boudreaux, and Betty Alexander.
