Oberlin-Funeral service for Zoe Ann Bourg, 93, will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Oberlin Baptist Church.  Rev. Don Duplechain will officiate.  Burial will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Oberlin Baptist Church on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Zoe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was a devoted wife to her husband, Gerald, for 52 years until his passing in February of 2007.  She was a faithful member of Oberlin Baptist Church for 50 years.  Zoe loved her career as a teacher; she taught for 20 years until her well-deserved retirement.  After she retired, she continued to be a substitute teacher.  Zoe enjoyed reading, gardening and growing flowers, solving puzzles, and spending time with her family.  She was a very loving and caring person who loved to help anyone in need.  Zoe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Zoe's memory include her two sons, Joseph Bourg and wife, Christine, and David Bourg, all of Oberlin; one daughter, Martha Bourg and her significant other, David Hooper of Oberlin; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Zoe is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. W.W Sr. and Gwendolyn Poimboeuf; her husband, Gerald Douglas Bourg, Sr.; one son, Gerald "Jerry" Douglas Bourg, Jr.; two brothers, Dr. C.E. Poimboeuf and Walter Poimboeuf, Jr.; one sister, Mina Egdorf; and two grandchildren, Michael Bourg and Nikki LeBleu.

Zoe's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Brighton Bridge Hospice for all of their love and care through this difficult time.
