Elton-Funeral service will be held for Yvonne Vidrine, age 69, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11am in St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate the service. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home/ Chapel of Elton.
The family will receive visitors beginning on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 12-9pm in Ardoin Funeral Home/Chapel of Elton. A rosary will be recited at 7pm and visitation will continue Saturday morning from 8am until time of service.
Yvonne was a life-long resident of Elton. She was also a life-long member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary. Yvonne's way of life was thru her faith and her rosary devotion. She was a devoted wife of 50 years. She enjoyed crafting, flowers, hummingbirds, and butterflies. She fought cancer for more than 20 years and her will to survive and attitude was "Like A Rock". Her determination has inspired all. She also enjoyed attending Camp Blue Bird sponsored by Lady of the Lourdes for all cancer victims and was involved with Relay for Life. She was a loving mom and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Alcee Vidrine of Elton; one son, Gregory Vidrine and wife Carla of Elton; two daughters, Theresa Fontenot and husband Steve of Elton, Brooke Vidrine and fiancé Eric Harris of Elton; two brothers, Pat Gillard and wife Nell of Beaumont, TX, Paul Gillard of Elton; two sisters, Louise Bergeron of Jennings, Jeanette Gotte of Elton; five grandchildren, Amy, Gregory, Joshua, Jacob, Dakimbra; seven great grandchildren, Noah, Chole, Gracelee, Hunter, Charlee, Ava, and Adler.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Amedine and Gabriel Gillard; one sister, Margerite Gillard; two brothers, Michael and George Gillard.
