Yvonne was a wonderful and loving, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to all. She was sweet spirited and welcomed everyone into her presence. Yvonne was a giver, although her possessions were minimal, she was willing to give away anything she possessed. She had the love and innocence of a child. There is no greater love than the love that she had for her mother. She lived her life always waiting for her mother to come back for her. She resided at St. Francis Nursing Home in Oberlin, LA for the past forty years where she has made many friends and loved to attend church services. She enjoyed music, clapping her hands, tapping her feet and worshiping the Lord. Yvonne enjoyed all aspects of life, especially the friendships she made along her journey. She loved her blue “pocketbook” and always had it stuffed full of everything that would fit inside of it. She had a profound love for her nurse, Cassie Sumbler, whom she called “Thibodeaux”. Cassie, cared for Yvonne for twenty-seven years, in this time, Yvonne confided in her, would seek advice from her, and made sure to always fill her in on all that happened on her time off. Yvonne was a light unto the path of many, her light always shined bright, and she will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Yvonne’s memory include, her brother, Lloyd “L.J.” Boudreaux and wife Crystal, one sister, Sue Swanger; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her father, Wesley Thompson, her mother, Edna Thompson Boudreaux, her loving stepfather, Loyd Boudreaux Sr.; one sister, and one brother.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Yvonne’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
