Kinder-Funeral service for Mr. Winston John, 66, will be held Saturday,
August 6, 2011 at 11am in Indian Bible Church of Elton. Rev. Don Barrett
will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 in Ardoin Funeral
Home of Kinder from 4pm-10pm. Visitation will continue Friday in Ardoin
Funeral Home of Kinder at 8am until time of service.
Mr. Winston was a lifelong resident of Kinder. He loved his music
and people. He played the guitar and loved the "Old Style Rock & Roll" from
the fifties. He also played Zydeco and Gospel music. He played sports and was
a boxer in the Houston area. Mr. Winston worked hard to support his family and
was a devoted husband of 37 years. He loved and enjoyed his children and
grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen John; three sons, Larry, Terry
and fiancee Nikki of Kinder, and Phillip John of Elton; one daughter,
Shana and husband Thomas Harmon of Kinder; and one sister Norma
Jean Williams of Kinder; and ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Winston is preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Maddie
John; two sons, Owen Wade and Ross Shannon John; and four brothers,
Nelson, Owen, Clyde, and Harrison John; and one sister Ada Abbey.
