Elton- Funeral service for Mrs. Winnie S. Parish, 97, will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. Pat Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in China Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5pm-9pm and will continue Tuesday at 8am until time of service.
Mrs. Parish was a resident of Elton, a member of First Baptist Church of Elton and retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Jennings American Legion Hospital after 22 years of service. She passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 in her residence.
Mrs. Parish is preceded in death by her husband, Buck Parish; parents, Cyrus & Genevieve Shuff; six brothers, Don J. Shuff, William Shuff, Gilbert Shuff, Robert Shuff, Bud Shuff, O.B. Shuff; five sisters, Agnes Dawsey, Bell Long, Vina Sole, Dora Myers, Lessie Hollingsworth.
She is survived by a host of nieces & nephews.
