Obituary

Elton-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Willis Courville, Sr, 87, announce his passing on June 10, 2015 following a long, courageous fight with illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 4-10 p.m. at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday morning
from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Willis was a loving husband to his wife and best friend, Mary, for 59 1/2 years. He was also a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a native of Oberlin and life-long resident of Elton. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for various companies throughout his life. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, serving as a council member and usher for many years. Willis enjoyed working in his garden, riding his motorcycle and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Mary Darbonne Courville, of Elton; his six children-Willis Courville, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Maurice, Virginia Savant and husband, Darrell, and David Courville and wife, Sharon, all of Elton, Marsha Larson and husband, Freddie, of Eunice, Marilyn Courville of Raleigh, NC, and Sandra Davis and husband, Chris, of Elton; 18 grandchildren-Nick, Jodi, Scott, Alece, Amanda, Chris, Caleb, Forrest, Alex, Laura, Haley, Luke, Ali, Abdalla, Layla, Josh, Sarah and Emma; 23 great grandchildren; one sister, Clarice Hayden of Covington; and one brother, Alede Courville of Kaplan.
Willis is preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Courville; one son, Mark Courville; three brothers; and his beloved dog, Peanut.
Pallbearers will be Willis' grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Manual and Charles Kingrey.
