Oakdale-Funeral Services for Willis Carl Laird, 75, will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Joe Wellman will officiate. A Graveside Service will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS at 2 p.m. under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service. ***Please note, due to state mandates, a face covering is required inside and social distancing must be maintained throughout your visit. ***

W.C. was a loving husband to his wife, Libby, for thirty-two years until her passing on August 10, 2018. She was the love of his life. He worked hard as a mechanic for Scott Cain Ford in Oakdale and then a truck driver for many years to provide for his family. W.C. left Oakdale and made his home in Mississippi where he owned and operated his own shop in Fayette, MS. He was the baby of five brothers, so you can only imagine how spoiled he was by his brothers, nieces and nephews. W.C. was a great stepfather to his step daughter and stepson and an even better grandfather to his grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting with his nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish W.C.'s memory include his two brothers, Henry and Bobby Laird; a host of nieces and nephews; two stepsons, Van Smith and wife, Judy and Johnnie Smith; stepdaughter, Jenna Bearden and husband, Pat; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.

W.C. is preceded in death by his parents, John and Esther Laird; wife, Myrtle Laird; two brothers, Carl Willis and A.D. Laird; and two nephews, Bobby and Archie Laird.
