Obituary

Willie Mae Lejeune, 95, of Oberlin, LA, passed away on September 14, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Entombment will follow in Oberlin cemetery mausoleum under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin from 7 a.m. until time of service.

Willie Mae was born April 13, 1923 in Oberlin and attended Oberlin High School. She married Thomas Compton of Jennings, LA in 1942. Thomas died in 1946, and she married Norbert Lejeune in1951.Willie Mae worked for many years at the Allen Parish Land and Title Company in Oberlin. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic church choir, the Ladies Altar Society, and also the rosary group in Oberlin. Her faith in God carried her throughout her long life.

She is survived by her five children, Sheila Zeringue, and husband, "Rock", of Pearlington, MS, Warren Lejeune and wife, Debbie, of Columbus, GA, Paul Lejeune of Oberlin, LA, Barbara Shamsie and husband, Dan, of Lake Charles, LA, and Justin Lejeune and wife, Tina, of Lake Charles, LA; eight grandchildren, Lori Crow of Prairieville, LA; Sean Zeringue of Folsom; LA, Holly Lemoine of Lake Charles, LA; Jacob Lejeune of Iowa, LA; Danielle Takacs of Houston, TX, Alyssa Schwartzenburg of Lafayette, LA, Jordan Schwartzenburg of Lake Charles, LA, and Allison Lejeune of Columbus, GA; six great grandchildren; two brothers, John "J.E." Darbonne and Richard Darbonne; three sisters, Emma Lou Douglas, Joann Journey, and Frances Vidrine.

The family would like to express a special thanks to High Hope nursing home and Brighton Bridge Hospice for all of their kind words, help, and gratitude shown.
