Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial for William LaFleur, 100, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 4-9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

William was born in Soileau to Lucille and Lastie LaFleur on May 14, 1920. At the age of 22, William joined the army. He served his time in France and Germany from December 1942 through December 1945 and was awarded with many medals. Soon after he returned to the states he married Eulamae LaFleur and they spent their entire life in Elton. William served as constable and chief of police for many years. He enjoyed gardening, raising pigs and chickens, relaxing and barbequing with his friends and family. William will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish William's memory include his daughters, Brenda Myers and husband, Andrew, of Jennings and Cynthia (Cinco) Chevallier of Elton; one son, Donald LaFleur and wife, Elisa, of Elton; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.

William is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eulamae LaFleur; one daughter, Edith (Pechute) Juka; and two brothers, Mike and Norris LaFleur.

The family would like to say a special thanks to LAMN Hospice Care for their excellent care. Also, a special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for the wonderful care they gave to William.
