Mittie-Funeral service will be held for Willadell Laughlin Trahan, age 86, at 11am on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church of Mittie. Rev. Ron Butler will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Cherry Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 4-9pm.The following morning, visitation will continue from 8am until time of service.
Willadell was a resident of Mittie. She was a devoted wife of fifty years and was a retired worker at Fort Polk in the auto craft shop. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, and her flowers. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include her two sons, Virgil Trahan and wife Gwen of Carlyss,Wyatt Trahan of Moss Bluff; one daughter, Cindy Dowies and husband Danny of Mittie; one sister, Wildred Reeves and husband Charlie of Moss Bluff; eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Willadell is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil J. Trahan; parents, Mary and Elzia Laughlin; daughter, Tammy Burk; one sister, Ruby Saunders; six brothers, Williett, Wilmer, Tairl, Willard, Boots, and Tuck Laughlin.
