Wilhena Lane Landry Hoppe, also known as "Billie" was often called "Memaw" by her grandkids. Billie was born September 15, 1934 to Henry Walter Lane of Minden, LA and Annie Ruth Biggs Lane Hatsfield of Beckville, TX. She was raised in Marshall, TX. In 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Alfred Landry and together they had three sons, Alfred, Jr., Tim and Mike. Billie was raised Baptist and after she got married she became Catholic. Her three boys were her world. She had two siblings, a brother-Henry Walter Lane "Bubba", a sister-Jane Ruth and a half-sister, Dean. She was the youngest of three kids. Billie's best friends in life were her niece, Glenda and her sister-in-law, Vera Landry.
In 1981 she married her second husband, Carl Hoppe. She then became a step-mom to three kids, Jimmy, Marie and Patti. Their life together consisted of hunting. They would dove hunt in Ruston, LA and deer and turkey hunt in Junction, TX. They used to love to eat out at Piccadilly. Billie loved to read her Bible and romance novels. She never had anything bad to say about anyone and she always found good in everyone. Her famous crush was, Kenny Rogers.
"Goodbye mom, thanks for giving me a life fulfilled with your love and kindness. She taught us all what really is important in life-to love, support and care for friends and family in our lives."
