Oberlin-Funeral service for Wilbert "Bish" LeJeune, 72, will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob S. Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in Soileau Cemetery under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home, 119 S. 7 th St., Oberlin on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Bish was a resident of Oberlin. He was a devoted husband of 53 years. His family meant everything to him. He worked hard over the years to provide for his family as a heavy equipment operator with the Local 406. He enjoyed his work and spending time with his co-workers. Bish was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a gardener and enjoyed his yard work, as well. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lou LeJeune of Oberlin; two sons, Mitch LeJeune and wife, Liz and Paul LeJeune and wife, Stephanie, all of Oberlin; one daughter, Lena Mahaffey of Oberlin; 6 grandchildren-David, Derrick, Alex, Adam, Joseph and Blaise; and 5 great grandchildren-Leighton, Ashton, Gracie Bell, Lexie and Karlie.
Bish is preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Lena LeJeune; and one brother, Gilbert "Bill" LeJeune.
