Kinder- Funeral service for Mr. Wayne F. Richard, 60, will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 3p.m. in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Donald Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6pm and will remain open until time of service.
Mr. Richard was recently a resident of Welsh. He served in the in the US Army during the Vietnam War and then also served in the Coast Guard. Mr. Richard served in many areas as a police officer. He was the police chief of Elton for 7 years, served in Jefferson Parish, Jeff Davis Parish, Jennings Police Department, Welsh Police Department, and was currently a Tribal Gaming Inspector at Coushatta Casino Resort. Mr. Richard passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 in his residence.
Mr. Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Darlene Richard; two children, Lori Richard of Elton & Wayne F. Richard Jr. of Elton; father, Daniel Richard of Basile; 2 grandchildren, Anthony Lee Stephens & Brittany Lynn Stephens; one brother, Mark Anthony Richard of Texas; two sisters, Cherrl Simon of Lafitte & Donna Anderson of Tennessee.
Mr. Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Richard.
