March 18, 1949 – April 5, 2023
Kinder- Graveside service for Wayne Nellen, 74, will be held at Cherry Grove Cemetery April 8, 2023 at 3 p.m. under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. Family and Friends will begin gathering at the cemetery at 2pm.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served our country in the United States Army and spent two tours in Vietnam. He was a taxidermist, worked construction and was a blacksmith, as well. Wayne loved to fish and hunt; he also enjoyed shooting cannons and was a Civil War reenactor. Wayne was a member of Semmes Battery of SWLA. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Enola Nellen; one daughter, Monica Nellen Marler; his Godson, Cody Tramel; 3 grandchildren-Trista Marler, Casey Rushin, and Haylie Marler; 2 great grandchildren-Lakyn Cooley and Brayden Johnson; 12 nieces and nephews; 34 great nieces and nephews; and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Claudia Nellen; two brothers; and one sister.
Those honored to be pallbearers for the service include Cody Tramel, Mark Tramel, Keegan Tramel, Blake Tompkins, Patrick Marler, and Brannon Cooley.
