Kinder-Wanda Nevils, 76, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012, surrounded
by her family and friends. Funeral service will be held at St. Philip Neri
Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 10am. Father Carlos Garcia will
officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of
Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Monday,
April 16, 2012 from 12noon-9pm with a rosary being recited at 6pm. Visitation
will continue on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 8am until time of service.
Wanda was a lifelong resident of Kinder. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Prior to the birth of her children, she was employed as a telephone operator. Once she became a mother, she enjoyed being a homemaker; and, when her children were grown, she worked as a substitute teacher at Kinder High School. She enjoyed reading and flower gardening in her spare time. Affectionately known by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren as "Grandmother", she was a devoted and loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Nevils; five children, Ramona Courville and husband, David; David Nevils and wife, Donna; Tim Nevils and wife, Colleen; Kay Medlin and husband, Andy; and, John "Buster" Nevils; one sister, Francis "Fran" Pelican Stoker; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Josie and Matt Pelican; two brothers, Chester Pelican and Alden Pelican; and, one sister, Ruby Roy.
