Walter, affectionately called Edward by all who knew him, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife, Connie Dean Manuel McDaniel until her passing in 2022. He worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He worked at the paper-mill in Elizabeth for 25 years as well as drove a school bus for Allen Parish School Board for 40 years. He was a great mechanic and was able to help many people with their vehicles. Edward loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting.  He loved to go dancing with his wife and spending time with his family. Edward loved Mardi Gras and was able to attend Fat Tuesday in Mamou this year. Edward will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Edward's memory include, one son, Brian K. McDaniel; two daughters, Angela McDaniel Winsko and Tina Marie McDaniel Granger; seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, John, and Elberta Willis McDaniel; his wife, Connie Dean Manuel McDaniel; three brothers, Rayburn, Johnny, and Alton McDaniel; two sisters, Lillian Monteith Thompson, and Virginia Day; and one great granddaughter, Grace Pennington.
