Obituary

   Forest Hill-Celebration of Life services honoring Vicente “Bennie” Sauseda Jr. 79, will be held at 10 o ‘clock a.m. on Thursday morning, April 2, 2026, at Pisgah Baptist Church in Forest Hill. Rev. John Hebert will officiate. Bennie will be laid to rest at Martin Springs Cemetery in Forest Hill immediately following his services.

   Bennie’s family will receive friends and visitors at Pisgah Baptist Church in Forest Hill on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2026, from 6-9 o’clock p.m. Bennie’s visitation will resume at Pisgah Baptist Church in Forest Hill on Thursday morning, April 2, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of Bennie’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

   Vicente, affectionately called “Bennie” by all who knew and loved him, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife Betty for 56 years. Bennie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved to cook and was a great cook. Bennie was a very hard worker and worked diligently as a nursery worker and landscaper to provide for his family whom he loved and adored dearly. He loved to spend time with his family and cherished every memory he made with them. Bennie will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

   Those left to cherish Bennie’s memory include his wife Betty Sauseda; six sons, David Sauseda and wife Debra, Dewayne Sauseda and wife Tammy, Robert Sauseda and wife Mona, Joseph Sauseda, George Sauseda, and Brandon Sauseda, four daughters, Melissa Holden and husband Kendall, Tracy Ganson, Sherrie Fisher and husband Robert, and Brandie Schellenger; three sisters, Shirley Butter, JoAnn Carpenter, and Eloise Strange; twenty three grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

   Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Benny, and Rafeala Sauseda; four brothers, Amos, Robert, Roy, and Jimmy Sauseda, three sisters, Virginia Allejandro, Emmadena Grisby, and Helen Melder; and two grandsons, Logan Ganson and Joshua Murphy.
