Oberlin- Funeral services for Ms. Veronica F. Harper, 65, will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10 AM in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Oberlin. Deacon Norris Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow in Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from9 AM till time of service on Thursday.

Ms. Harper was a resident of Oberlin. She passed away on Sunday at 5 AM at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Ms. Harper was quite a good sketch artist, and was at one time commissioned by the City of Oberlin to do sketches of their historical buildings. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Fabian Harper of Vinton, who is currently stationed in Iraq in service for the U.S. Military; one daughter, Trisha Ganson of Oberlin; two sisters, Hytta Guillory and husband Nolton of Centerville, and Caroline Matt and husband Marty of Iowa; and one brother, Wallace Fruge and wife Jean of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aten and Bernice Fruge; her husband, Coburn Harper; and two brothers, Larry and Rigsby Fruge.
