Kinder-Funeral service for Verma Jean Arabie Kleven, 80, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Albert Borel will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBlue Cemetery of Fenton under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Verma Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was devoted to her husband, Kenneth, for 53 years prior to his passing away in January, 2005. She was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church of Westlake where she served as a lector, volunteer, and was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters. Verma Jean liked to read and work crossword puzzles and enjoyed "playing" on the computer. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Verma Jean's memory include her three sons, James Kenneth Kleven of Westlake, Kurt Robert Kleven and wife, Judy, of Sulphur, and Keith Kleven and wife, Genia, of Florien; one daughter, Kaye Avery of Westlake; three sisters, Viola Cormier and husband, Clyde, of Abbeville, Betty Piserell, of Iowa, and Dean Trahan of Lake Arthur; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Verma Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Jency Arabie; her husband, Kenneth Kleven; one brother, Joseph Arabie; and one sister, Anita Pousson.
