Troy's family will receive friends and visitors at Mt. Hope Baptist in Oakdale on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 1-9 o'clock p.m. Troy's visitation will resume at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Oakdale on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2024, from 10 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Troy's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Troy was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and brother who loved his family unconditionally. He married his wife Dianne Bond in 1980 and from that union, they shared two sons, Byron, and "Bubba". Troy and Dianne were married for 42 years until her passing in 2022. He was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Oakdale where he attended church regularly. Troy loved to spend time with his family especially his children and grandchildren and loved to boil crawfish and listen to Zydeco music with them. He was an outdoorsman and took every opportunity he was afforded to go fishing and hunting. Troy also enjoyed working in his yard. He was a very hard worker and providing for his family was a long-time achievement that he was proud of. Troy will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Troy's memory include his two sons, Byron Bonin and wife Crystal of LaPorte, TX, and Brandon "Bubba" Bonin and wife Brittany of Oakdale, LA; one sister, Joylyn Trosclair and husband Murphy of New Iberia, LA; and seven grandchildren, Chloe Dickens, and Haylie, Shelby, Gunner, Ethan, and Brooks Bonin, and Olivia Pruitt.

Troy is preceded in death by his parents Goreph Touchet and Winnie Phelps; his wife, Dianne Bond Bonin; and one sister, Kay Curtin.

Condolences and words of comfort may be shared with Troy's family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

Troy's family would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone at the Fresenius in Mamou and Eunice who took such wonderful care of their father for over 16 years.
