Obituary

Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Tony Maricle, age of 68, will be held at 1 o’clock p.m. on Saturday afternoon, July 11, 2026, at Westport Friendship Baptist Church in Pitkin, LA. Rev. Jeff James will officiate. Tony will be laid to rest at Occupy #1 Cemetery in Pitkin, LA immediately following his services.

Tony’s family will receive friends and visitors at Westport Friendship Baptist Church in Pitkin, LA on Friday evening, July 10, 2026, from 4-12 o’clock p.m. Tony’s visitation will resume on Saturday morning, July 11, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. All of Tony’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Tony was a loving husband, dad, pawpaw, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He was a very hard worker and worked as a union member of the Teamsters Local 270, for 40 years and was also a member of the Labor Union 692 for 50 years. Tony had a profound love for driving 18-wheelers and hauling pipeline equipment. He was very talented at driving a truck and could back up an 18-wheeler into the smallest of places that most people could not drive into. Tony was a giver and found joy in helping others. He always said, “help others and it’ll come back to you”. He was also very outgoing and never met a stranger, if he saw you, he would speak to you whether he knew you or not. Tony was a loving family man and spent his last years enjoyed being a husband, dad, and pawpaw where he especially loved his grandbabies and being their pawpaw. He may have been a Union Pipeliner by trade but most importantly he was a pawpaw by heart. Tony dearly adored his wife Vickie, and they had a profound love for one another that was a significant inspiration to others. Thank you, Vickie, for the 51 wonderful years you gave to him, he loved you beyond measures and whole heartedly. Tony was a very loving and caring person and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Tony’s memory include his wife of 51 years, Vickie Maricle; one son, Tye Maricle and wife Savannah Maricle of Pitkin, LA; Dwaine Maricle and wife Essie Maricle of LeBlanc, LA; his parents, Calvin and Nell Batton of Elizabeth, LA; two sisters, Kay Culpepper and husband Jim Culpepper of Eureka Springs, AR, and Vhonda Maricle of Elizabeth, LA; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Maggie, Colton, Chloie, Quinn, Leslie, and Taylor Maricle; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, Cully Maricle; and one brother, James Timothy Maricle.

Pallbearers honored to carry Tony to his final resting place will be Tye Maricle, Colton Maricle, Justin Mancil, Casey Brooks, Mitch Thompson, and Justin Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Mancil and Jacob Odom.
