Kinder-Funeral service for Toinette "Toye" Cappel, 98, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in the chapel of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.  Rev. Don Barrett will officiate.  Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 3-8 p.m.  Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Toinette Wade Cappel, affectionately known as "Toye", was born on December 8, 1919 to John Daniel Wade and Myrtle Virginia Ammons.  She was one of 8 girls, all raised in Negreet, Louisiana.  In 1940, Toinette married Ward Cappel, of Kinder,  and they had four sons-Joe, Lane, Dan, and Richard.  Toye was a home economics agent, school teacher, master gardener, skilled landscaper, successful business woman, wonderful cook, well-known vitamin expert and proud owner of Cappel Drugstore for many decades.  She was devoted to her husband, J.W., for 25 years until his passing in 1969.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother.  Toye will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Toye's memory include her sons, Dr. J.W. Cappel III and wife, Linda, of Fort Worth, TX, Lane Cappel and wife, Ginger, and Daniel Cappel and wife, Tonie, all of Kinder, and Richard Cappel and wife, Rachel, of Slidell; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Toye is preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Myrtle Wade; her husband, J.W. ""Ward" Cappel, Jr; seven sisters; and one great grandchild, Whitney L. Cappel.
