Oakdale-Toby E. Tolbert, 71, of Elizabeth, LA. passed away peacefully Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Christus St Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. surrounded by his family. Per Toby's wishes his family will host a private inurnment service at the Veteran's Cemetery in Leesville, LA. at a future date. All of Toby's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Toby was born November 9, 1953 in Vivian LA. He grew up in Oil City, LA. and graduated from Northwood High School in Shreveport LA. in 1971.

Toby served his country proudly as a United States Marine from 1971 to 1974. He met his wife, Karleen, while they were both stationed at Quantico VA. They were married in Dale City VA. in 1974. Following his military service he became a union pipefitter, working in the building trades for over 42 years, until he retired in 2018. He was a proud member of UA local 598, Pasco, WA. His work took him all over the country, making many lifelong friends.

Toby enjoyed watching all types of sports, but his favorite was football. He was a fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. But his greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. His grandsons will always have a special place in his heart. He was a good man, who worked hard, loved his family, and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Toby's memory include his wife, Karleen of Elizabeth LA; two daughters, Kimberley Tolbert of Deridder LA, Jennifer Tolbert of Alexandria VA; son, Toby J. Tolbert and wife Hannah of Pitkin, LA; four grandsons, Aiden Tolbert, Bryson Ross, Jaxson Tolbert, Saxon Ross, and a host of extended family members and friends.

Toby is preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Glady Tolbert and his sister, Sharon Tolbert Blackmon.
