Tim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He grew up in Lake Charles but moved to Elton after marrying the love of his life, Junilla Daugereaux Byrne. There, he worked as a rice, crawfish, and soybean farmer for nearly 40 years. Tim loved hunting, campfires, watching football and baseball, reading literature, waxing philosophical, listening to music, and riding side-by-sides. But, most of all, he cherished every moment he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the most loving and caring "Gramps" to his eight grandchildren. He often said, "My legacy will not be defined by what I have done with my life but what my children do with theirs." All of his children pursued higher education following high school and have successful careers in their respective fields. Jeremy Byrne is a farmer and has worked passionately for over 16 years in expanding the farming operation that Tim and Tim's father-in-law, C.L. Daugereaux, had before him. Jonathan Byrne is a production operator with Shell Oil, where he has been a dedicated employee for 14 years. Mary Beth Byrne Dewees is a registered nurse and works at a facility that provides skilled nursing care to children with special medical needs. Dr. Joel Byrne currently is completing an intern year in internal medicine in Baton Rouge and will start dermatology residency next year in Georgia. Tim will be missed by many, and his loyalty, intelligence, and humility will be remembered forever.
Those left to cherish Tim's memory include his devoted wife of 41 years, Junilla Daugereaux Byrne; three sons, Jeremy Patrick Byrne and wife, Laci, Jonathan Brendon Byrne and wife, Amber, and Joel Sullivan Byrne, all of Elton; one daughter, Mary Beth Byrne Dewees and husband, Josh, of Elton; two brothers, Mike Byrne and wife, Brenda, and Kevin Byrne and wife, Monica, all of Lake Charles; one sister, Diane Byrne Brown and husband, Craig, of Bartlett, TN; eight grandchildren-Nathan, Emmett, and Beckett Byrne, Connor, Preslee, and Aubrey Byrne, and Owen and Oliver Dewees; and his in-laws, C.L. and Bethel Daugereaux of Elton.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Clifford and Mrs. Mary Byrne; and one brother, Terry Byrne.
