Kinder-Funeral service for Thomas "Ricky " Simonds, 61, will be held at Green Oak Bible Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Rev. Jerry C. Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Green Oak Bible Church on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Thomas, affectionately known as 'Ricky", was a lifelong resident of Kinder as well as a lifelong member of Green Oak Bible Church. He was known as the "Mayor of Green Oak". Ricky had a sweet, tender spirit. He loved to "travel in his wheelchair". He also loved to collect model automobiles. He made everyone he met feel like family. And, he always had something good to say. Those who never met Ricky, truly missed a blessing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him as well as his devoted caregiver, Patricia Barker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his uncle, Dave Trahan, of Keachie; one nephew, Shannon Simonds, of Green Oak; as well as a host of family and friends.
Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Marie Simonds, and his brother, Ronald Simonds.
