Reeves-Funeral service for Thomas Dale Nixon, 71, will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11 am in Reeves Bible Church. Reverend Glenn Ducharme will officiate.
Visitation will be held in Reeves Bible Church on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 9am until the time of service.
Dale was a member of Reeves Bible Church. He graduated from Reeves High School, enlisted in the United States Navy and served our country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he enrolled at McNeese State University and graduated in 1972 as a registered nurse. He then studied and graduated as a nurse anesthetist from the Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans. He had a great passion for working and helping others and did so for over 35 years. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Yvonne Nixon of Reeves; his mother, Stella Nixon of Reeves; one daughter, Lorraine Nixon of Reeves; two sisters, Joyce Hollis of Lake Charles and Diane Kountz and husband, Bryant of Lafayette; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Turner Nixon and one sister, Glenda Hill.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
