Grant-Funeral service for Thomas Melvin Caskey, 87, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at Palestine Baptist Church in Grant. Rev. Hardy Estes will officiate. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Palestine Baptist Church from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Thomas was a loving son, brother, and husband. He loved to fish. Thomas enjoyed cats. He liked to cook and could make a great gumbo and gravy. Thomas served our country in the US Air Force for four years. He managed L.B. Price Mercantile Store in Shreveport and also managed Circle K in Shreveport as well. He liked spending time with his family. Thomas was the family photographer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Thomas's memory include his wife, Shirley of Mittie; two sisters, Lillie Tilley and Adeline Boudreaux both of Mittie.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lydia Caskey; three brothers, Willie Caskey, Steve Caskey, Floyd "Joe" Caskey; and one sister, Evelyn Furlough.
