Funeral service for Mr. Thomas Vester Brigham, 67, will be held Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in Oberlin Baptist Church. Rev. Shane Nugent will officiate. Visitation will begin Sunday at 2p.m. until time of service.
Graveside service will be held Monday February 25, 2008 at Chapelwood Cemetery in Texarkana, TX at 12:00 noon. Rev. John Hall will officiate.
Mr. Brigham was born in Texarkana, TX and was a resident of Oberlin, LA. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons after 20 years of service and was a graduate of Liberty Eylau High School. Mr. Brigham was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and hunter that enjoyed spending time with friends. Everyone will miss his ability to brighten the days with his humor and laughter. He passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 in a Lake Charles care center after a long illness.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine C. Brigham of Oberlin; daughter, Tammy B. Coleman & husband Kent Coleman of Dallas, TX; step sons, Stephen B. Manuel & Jeff Manuel both of Oberlin; step daughter, Amanda McAleece of Lake Charles; 12 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Minnie Ola Brigham; brother, James Irvin Brigham; daughter, Teena M. Reece.
