Kinder-Funeral service for Theresa Amy Bordelon Johnson, age 87, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018, at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 5-9 p.m. with a vigil beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Amy passed away at Canon Hospice in Metairie on February 11, 2018, after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife to Loyd Johnson for 41 years. Together they raised five children. Amy worked outside the home as an assembly line worker. She did not retire until she reached 70 years of age. Amy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Amy's memory include her three sons, Michael Johnson and wife, Nancy, Merrill Johnson and wife, Joanne, both of Kenner, and Ronald Johnson and wife, Helen, of Metairie; two daughters, Brenda Johnson Dainello and husband, A.J., of Little Elm, TX, and Pamela Johnson Kay and husband, Louis, of Marrero; three sisters, Pearl Bordelon Sommers and husband, Paris, of Chalmette, Eura Lee Kimball, and Alice Bordelon, both of Kenner; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Amy is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Johnson; two grandchildren, Vincent Johnson and Jayden Tamburello; four brothers, Herman, Wilbon, Alven and Miller Bordelon; and two sisters, Audrey Bordelon Johnson and Earline Bordelon Spano.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers for the funeral service include son, Michael Johnson, grandson, Jeremiah Johnson, son-in-law, Anthony Dainello; daughters, Brenda Johnson Dainello and Pamela Johnson Kay; and William Cooper. Honorary pallbearers are sons, Merrill and Ronald Johnson; and great grandson, Paul Fontenot.
