Elton-Funeral service for Theresa "Nan" Chretien Perkins, 76, will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate. Burial will follow in Chretien Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Friday, August 26, 2016, from 4-10 p.m. A Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Theresa, known as "Nan", was a loving mother, grandmother and godmother to everyone. She was a wonderful cook, loved her garden, and loved to sew, knit, and crochet. She loved music, especially the blues. Nan was a woman of few words, but her love was able to touch so many lives. Theresa enjoyed a good time with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Theresa's memory include her three sons, Lyndon G. Perkins and wife, June, of Elton, Wilson J. Perkins and wife Linda, of Columbus, GA, and Amos J. Perkins, Jr. and wife, Donna, of San Marcos, TX; two daughters, Shanna G. Perkins of Elton and Kristy N. Perkins and husband, Mohammad Khan, of Kinder; one brother Frank Chretien, Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of Beaumont, TX; two sisters, Lillian Chretien and Annie Leonard both of Elton,; special niece, FayeFaye Campbell; special godchild, Patsi Sterling; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Amos J. Perkins, Sr.; her parents Ida and Frank Chretien, Sr.; and close friend Edith Pisik.
