Terry was born in Ville Platte and grew up on the outskirts of Glenmora; attending Glenmora High School and graduating in 1961. He moved to Lafayette to begin a career in the oilfield. In 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Catherine. Then, two years later, he enlisted in the Army National Guard; serving from 1966-1972 working on heavy equipment. Throughout his 50+ years in the oilfield, he worked in Morgan City, Yukon, OK, Houma, New Iberia, Galveston, TX, Port Fourchon, and eventually retiring from Venice, Louisiana. One could find him fishing, listening to bluegrass music, and working on an endless array of broken down tractors. Terry was honored to be ordained as a deacon at Harmony Baptist Church and enjoyed serving in any way possible, especially cooking for the men's suppers. Family and friends were his two favorite pastimes and everyone knew "Uncle Terry" would bring that infectious smile and quick wit to any gathering. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Catherine Seal; one brother, Charles Larry Seal and wife, Lavonia; honorary granddaughter, Santana Wells and husband, Gavin; one brother-in-law, Pedro Flores; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Frances (Doc) and James Alva (Pud) Seal, two brothers, William (Billy) Seal and Jerry Seal.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Terry's memory to Harmony Baptist Church of Glenmora. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com and our Facebook page-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
