Elton-Memorial service for Terra Treme Smith Young, age 62, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton. Deacon Mike Guillory will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton from 2 p.m. until time of service Thursday, December 15, 2016 with the Holy Rosary at 5 p.m.
Terra was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She lived her life around her grandchildren. Terra loved to cook and bake. In her younger days she enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She had love and passion for dancing and twirling. Terra was proud to be a majorette for the Elton High School Band and she also loved playing basketball in High School. She had a passion for being a hair stylist. Terra was a hair stylist for 27 years. She loved spending time with her family and loved life. Terra was a woman of strong faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Terra's memory include her mom, Loretta Treme Doise; one son, Timothy Smith Jr. of Elton; one daughter, Emily Lopez and husband, Ryan, of Youngsville, La; two brothers, Robbie Treme and wife, Cindy, of Albuquerque, NM, Jayme Treme and wife, Sharon, of Church Point; one sister, Jean'nette LeJeune and husband, Tommy, of Hathaway; two grandchildren, Lexie Smith, and Jacie Lopez; former husband, Doug Young of Basile; and a host of numerous nieces and nephews.
Terra is preceded in death by her former husband, Timothy "Tim" Smith, Sr.; father, John Treme; one brother, John Garrique Treme; and one sister, Penny Treme Thomas.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to cover medical expenses
