Teddy Ray Gorman, 53, originally of Grant, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026.

Born on September 22, 1972, Teddy was known for his quick wit, unwavering determination, and deep love for family, friends, and sports. In 1988, at the age of 15, a swimming accident left him a quadriplegic. Although his life changed in an instant, Teddy refused to let his disability define him. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1990 before earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology at McNeese State University, meeting life's challenges with quiet strength, resilience, and grace.

A devoted sports fan, Teddy was fiercely loyal to his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on. He especially enjoyed talking sports with family and friends and had a gift for making people feel welcome. Those who knew Teddy will remember his sharp sense of humor, his loyalty, his humility, and his remarkable ability to persevere with dignity.

Teddy was preceded in death by his father, Freddy Ray Gorman.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Rebecca Fontenot Gorman; his sister, Tina; his brothers, Toby and Tracy; five nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews, two great-nieces, and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Oberlin, Louisiana starting at 7:30 am on July 28, 2026. A rosary will be said at St. Joan of Arc (directly across from the funeral home) at 10:00 am with the funeral mass beginning at 11:00 am. The burial will follow at Hampton Cemetary in Elizabeth, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to assist with Teddy's funeral expenses may be made directly to Ardoin's Funeral Home in Oberlin, Louisiana.

Teddy's life was a testament to resilience, courage, and quiet strength. He will be remembered not for the challenges he faced, but for the character with which he faced them and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
