Guz Rodriguez will officiate. Tammy’s eulogy will be read by her brother, Christopher “Shakey” Schexnider and her service music will be performed by her daughter Olivia Anne Marcantel Gray.     Tammy’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 4-9 o’clock p.m. Tammy’s visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of service.

Tammy was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was born in Lake Charles, LA in March of 1974 to the union of James and Geraldine Schexnider and was raised in Lacassine and Iowa, LA. Once married, she would then move to Indian Village, LA where she and her husband would raise their daughter. Tammy had a profound love for animals, especially her chickens and dogs, and cared for them as if they were her children. She also loved babies and wanted to hold every baby she encountered. Tammy was a woman of strong faith and loved the Lord. Her love for Christ was witnessed by all who knew her as she took every opportunity given to share bible scriptures with those she met. Tammy read her bible until it fell apart. She loved to sing gospel music from a very early age and sang until the very end of her life. She had a keen wit and loved to joke especially with her family and friends where she was known as the family “jokester”. She dearly loved all her family and cherished every memory she made with them. Her nieces and nephews were also a large part of her life where she was Godmother to her nephews Gavin, Tyler, and Trevor Schexnider. Tammy was very selfless and had a huge heart. She was a giver and would give the very last she had if someone else was in need. Tammy will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Tammy’s memory include her daughter, Olivia Anne Gray, and husband Devan of Kinder, LA; one brother, Christopher “Shakey” James Schexnider and wife Sherri, of Fenton, LA; her mother, Geraldine Hebert Schexnider; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Tammy is preceded in death by her father, James Harris Schexnider; her husband, David Dwite Marcantel; and one Godson, Christopher James “Tooter” Schexnider Jr.
