Kinder- Funeral mass for Mr. Sydney Charles Prudhomme, 69, will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 1 PM in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Deacon Roy Nash will
officiate. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 AM till time of service in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Kinder.
Sydney Charles Edward Prudhomme, 69, entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2008 at the Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder, La.
Charles was born June 1, 1939 to the union of August Prudhomme and Joyce Bell Cole Prudhomme. He served his country as a member of the United States Army for four years. He was a loyal employee of the Kinder Sand Co., Inc. for 27 years. Charles had many passions; especially fishing, cooking, music, as well as a die-hard football fan. As a member of the Zydeco band, John and Gino Delafose and the Eunice Playboys, Charles shared his God given talent and passion for playing the guitar with the world. Playing the music he loved gave him opportunities to travel, even as far as Africa.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Peggy of Eunice; four daughters, Eva Ternell Edwards and husband Robert of Beaumont, TX, Coretta Collins and husband Reuben of Jacksonville, FL, Nakeshia Smith and husband Michael and Alexis Prudhomme both of Slidell, LA; two sons, Anthony Prudhomme and wife Charlotte of Beaumont, TX and Timothy Prudhomme of Hollywood, FL; two stepdaughters, Keisha Berry and husband Mack of Oberlin, and Cassandra Robertson and husband Marcus of Pallmetto, LA; the mother of his children, Pricilla Prudhomme of Kinder; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Willis Prudhomme and Irvin Prudhomme, both of Kinder; four sisters, Izella Landry and husband Edward, Loretta Ceasar and husband Johnny, "Theresa Kirklin and husband Wilbert, and Minister Mary Kirklan. He is preceded in death by his parents, August and Joyce Prudhomme, three brothers, Joseph, John, and Audry Prudhomme and two sisters, Irene Landry and Amolois Hilstock and one grandchild MaKalya Davis.
