Stonney was born March 5, 1945 in Eunice to Joseph E. Reeves and Hilda M. Heabler.  He served his country in the United States Army and earned various medals while serving as a Green Beret during the Vietnam Conflict.  He lived in Baton Rouge where he became passionate for racecars; he even built two of his own.  He was always musically inclined.  He learned to play box guitar at 10 years old.  He could play a keyboard like Jerry Lee Lewis and had the privilege of helping Charles Mann in the making of "Red, Red Wine."  He also started his first of two bands with the help of his friends and his daughter, Therisa.  Years later, he moved to LeBlanc where he resided for the remainder of his life.  He opened a wrecker service and mechanic shop and he was a proud teamster of the local TMT union and loved all of the friends with whom he worked.  Stonney was a "jack of all trades."  There was not much he would not try or could not do including jumping out of airplanes, hugging the curves as the dirt flew and trying to miss the overpasses.  Stonney also worked for several years as a truck driver with Crowley Marine.  Anyone that was lucky enough to know him knew he was always coming up with something and knew if they could do something, he could do it better! Stonney could fix anything perfectly.  He loved life and was loved by many, especially his children and grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish Stonney's memory include his three daughters, Therisa Reeves Manuel of LeBlanc, Brenda Reeves Burnett of Clevland, TX and Regina Reeves Thomas and husband, Randy of Grand Lake; 9 grandchildren-Christopher Manuel, Khristain Manuel, Kaylee Thomas, Mitchell Thomas, Michael Harlow, Brandon Harlow, Amber Harlow Dawkins, Ashley Harlow Hall, and Kristen Burnett; and 24 great grandchildren.

Stonney is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hilda Reeves; his brother, Ray Edward Reeves; and his sister, Marjorie Nell Reeves Staggs.
