Oberlin-Funeral service will be held for Sidney Wade Young, age 74, on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Cherry Grove Baptist Church of Mittie. Rev. Ron Butler will officiate the service and burial will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Cherry Grove Baptist Church beginning Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Wade was a lifelong resident of Oberlin. He loved his work as a mechanic. His favorite past time was deer hunting. He was a loving husband of 52 years as well as a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Thelma B. Young; three sons-Tim Young and wife, Tonia, Bryan Young and wife, Jennifer and Eric Young, all of Oberlin; two daughters-Angie Bertrand and husband, Kurt of Basile and Bernadine Vezina of Oberlin; one sister, Evelyn Coe of Mittie; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Wade is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Margaret Young.
