Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Shirley Ann Cooley, 88, will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. on Friday afternoon, September 18, 2026, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Greg Willis will officiate. Shirley will be laid to rest at Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder, LA, immediately following her services.

    Shirley's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Friday morning, September 18, 2026, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Shirley's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

    Shirley Ann Cooley was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was born on Wednesday, August 24, 1938, to the union of Joseph and Lilly Young. Shirley cherished raising her five children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life, she developed a passion for interior decorating and helping others design their spaces. Whenever someone mentioned building a home, she immediately set to work designing layouts. She enjoyed antiquing, remodeling, drafting house plans, sewing, shopping, and refinishing furniture for her flea market business. Shirley kept herself busy and encouraged others to do the same. She was unconditionally loved and will be forever missed by those who knew her.

    Those left to cherish Shirley's memory include her two sons, Richard Reeves Jr. and wife Dawn, and Mark Reeves and wife Amanda; three daughters, Susan Culver and husband Tim, Tammy Fruge and husband David, and Tracey Marcantel and husband Jerry; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.

    Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lilly Young; husband, Dallas Cooley; and three brothers, Sheldon, JR, and Richard Young.
