Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Sheila Jane Materne, 51, will be held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Saturday morning, March 21, 2026, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Dewayne Daigle will officiate. Sheila will be laid to rest at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Elton immediately following her services.
Sheila’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Friday evening, March 20, 2026, from 4-10 o’clock p.m. Sheila’s visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Saturday morning, March 21, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of Sheila’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
Sheila was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. She loved to dance and enjoyed making people smile. Sheila had a contagious laugh and enjoyed having a good time. Some of her favorite past times included doing diamond art, getting her nails done, and buying body mist spray. Sheila dearly loved and adored her family and her animals and cherished every memory she made with them. She loved the color purple and listening to Kid Rock music. Sheila will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Sheila’s memory include her three sons, John Materne, Isreal Richard, and Issiah Richard and wife Justine; her former husband Brian Richard; two grandchildren, Bentley and Jasmine Materne, five great nieces Kelsi Lynn, Keylee, Maliki, Marissa, and Kate-Lynn Griffin, one nephew Chris Griffin and wife Kayla; three great nephews, Daylen Andrew Benoit, and Terrance and Parker Griffin, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents, Terry Materne and Nelda John; one sister: Charlene Cramer; her daughter-in-law, Brittney Parsley; one nephew, Derrick Griffin, and one niece, Desiree' Cramer.
