Kinder-Funeral service will be held for Sheridan W. Bell, age 76, on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11am in Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 4-9pm in Ardoin Funeral Home and will continue on Monday from 8am until time of service.
Sheridan was a lifelong resident of Kinder. He was a very patriotic man having proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired truck driver with Union Pacific with over forty years of service. He enjoyed yard work and his work with cattle at the Kinder Sale Barn. He was a devoted husband and dearly loved his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ladora Bell; his sons, Bill Long of Oberlin and Glenn Long and wife, Charlotte of Basile; his daughter, Shella Phenice of Oberlin; four sisters, Buressa Guillory of Bossier, Nellwynn Pelican of Kinder, Vernona "Nona" Bell of Kinder, and Mollie Cole of Topeka, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Sheridan is preceded in death by his parents, Lovinia and Mitchell Bell; his sons, Isaac (Iky) Bell, Richard Long, and Wesley Long; and one daughter, Kathleen (Kathy) Fuselier.
