Oakdale-Celebration of Life services honoring Shannon DeShannon, 50, will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oakdale. Rev. Greg Willis and Rev. J.R. Jeffery will officiate. Shannon will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery immediately following his services.

Shannon's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oakdale on Thursday evening, April 4, 2024 from 6-9 o'clock p.m. Shannon's visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oakdale on Friday morning, April 5, 2024 from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Shannon's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Shannon was favored by God. He spared his life many times, but one thing was always consistent Shannon loved the Lord. Shannon was a troubled soul for many years, but the last six weeks of his life he had done a complete one-eighty and had surrendered his all to God. He always said, "We need to be committed and give our all to God"; grace and mercy followed him all the days of his life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Shannon's memory include his parents, Charles Swartz "Father", and Yvonne Swartz " Mother " of Dells, Wisconsin; two daughters Sheri and Keri Bloodsworth; one brother, Charles "Joseph" Swartz, wife Stefanie and their son "JoJo" his wife Teresa, an unborn great niece Italy Ann; Chuck, Rowdy, and Steve Swartz; one sister, Alyssa Harris, and husband Sammy Harris and their child C.J. Harris and great nieces Kyla, Paisley, Presly, and Hudson Harris; six grandchildren, Keeleigh, Kylen, Rylan, Bentlee, Brentley, and Jaxon Ridge; and a host of extended family and friends.

Shannon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubbard, and Maggie Buxton.
