Kinder-Funeral services for Scott Ralph Walker, 61, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Bro. Bruce Butts and Rev. Glenn Ducharme will officiate. Burial will follow at Creel Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 4-9 p.m. with a singing service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Scott Ralph Walker was born on May 4 th , 1961, in Kinder, LA to Betty Joe and Benton Walker. He was the youngest of 5 children. He was a brother to Boyd, Wade, Karin, and Salena. While in trade school he met the love of his life, Sandra. On January 9 th , 1982 they were married at Oakhill Church in Oakdale, LA. Together the couple raised 5 beautiful children. 4 girls and 1 boy, Sandy, Candace, Heather, Hannah, and Scott. Scott was a long time employee at Northrop Grumman where he was an airplane mechanic. He also served his community as former Mayor and Fire Chief for the Village of Reeves. He loved music and could play a wide variety of instruments. He loved to grill and insisted on having many taste testers. Scott was a very devoted Christian and loved studying the Word of God. He taught Sunday school at his family church for many years. He never met a stranger and was known for giving the best hugs. His life motto was "Always leaving them laughing when you say goodbye".
Those left to cherish Scott's memory include his mother, Betty Joe Walker of Reeves; wife, Sandra Loretta Walker of Reeves; son, Scott Walker of Reeves; four daughters, Sandy Marie Otwell and husband, Jacob, of Jonesboro, Candace Ferrin Vidrine and husband, Bret, of LeBleu Settlement, Heather Alexander Doucet and husband, Anthony, of Reeves and Hannah Elizabeth Walker of Anna, IL; two brothers, Boyd Walker and wife, Debbie, of Moss Bluff and Wade Walker and wife, Sandy, of Gladewater, TX; two sisters, Karin Jones of Quitman and Salena Mathews and husband, Rel, of Jonesboro; and six grandchildren, Gabe, Colton, Liam, Ferrin, Brennon and Dawson.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Richard Benton Walker.
