Oakdale-Funeral Services for Savann Mean, 72, will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. The family has arranged for cremation following the services. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 10 a.m. until time of service.

The world has lost another great man, a Vietnam veteran, a husband, a father, a loving grandfather, a brother, an uncle and a friend. He spent his life loving his family and helping those in need. When someone needed help Savann was there even if it meant relocating his family to do so. He was always eager with a helping hand and just as eager to speak of his days long past. Savann had many stories and brought smiles to all the faces around him. Now, his work on this earth is done and it's time for him to go see his father. He was a saint to a few, a hero to some and a friend to many. Heaven has gained another angel. He will be dearly missed. Now his family could use your help. I ask you all too please help his family in their time of need. The medical bills and funeral cost are too much for them to handle alone. So, please donate what you can. God bless you and thank you.

Those left to cherish Savann's memory include his wife, Sythat Sao Mean; one son, Savanarith Mean (Lyna Mean); four daughters, Savanroi Mean (Craig Blake), Vandy Mean (William Greenway), Soklakhana Mean (Rodney Smith) and Vanessa Mean (Steven Ware); and eight grandchildren.

Savann is preceded in death by his parents, Sarvn Soun and Mut Chea.
