Oberlin-Mass of Christian Burial honoring Sarah G. Reed, 88, will be held at 1 o’clock p.m. on Saturday afternoon, September 26, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Jerish George will officiate. Sarah will be laid to rest at Reed Cemetery in Oberlin, LA immediately following her services.

    Sarah’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Saturday morning, September 26, 2026, from 9 o’clock a.m. until time of service with a recitation of the holy rosary at 12 o’clock a.m. All of Sarah’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

    Sarah Ann Belle Granger Reed was born on Friday April 15, 1938, to the union of Clement Granger and Emma Jane Manuel Granger. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family, that she loved very much. Sarah had many friends and family that she loved spending time with, she loved people. Sarah was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where she was a proud member of the Rosary Group. Her two biggest hobbies were cooking and gardening. She enjoyed having people over for a good meal and fellowship. Sarah was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching many different games. She had family that competed at the high school, college, and professional level. Sarah was unconditionally loved and will be forever missed by those that knew her.

    Those left to cherish Sarah’s memory include two sons, Charles Martin Reed Sr. and wife Yvonne and Joseph Kent Reed and wife Alison; two daughters, Tracey Ann Reed Odom and husband John and Stephanie Leigh Reed Ashy and husband Ricky; one brother, Hoyle John Granger Sr. and wife Pat; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews extended family members and friends.

    Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Clement Granger and Emma Jane Manuel Granger; her husband, Deius Charles Reed Jr.; one brother, James Kersler Granger Sr.; and two sisters, Zoe Grace Granger and Glara Mae Granger Durio.
