All of Sandy's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.

Sandra Ann Kennedy, better known as 'Sis. Sandy' or 'Maw Maw', was a one-of-a-kind person-to use the word 'special' would undermine the essence of who she was.

Although born in Oklahoma, she moved to Elton after marrying Ronald "Ronnie" Kennedy and began to raise her family.

She was a Headstart Teacher in Jennings for a significant number of years before becoming the Director.
After leaving the Directorship, she decided to open a daycare in Elton, and thus, Kennedy Care Korner was born.  Kennedy Care Korner remained a steady source of assistance for many families in Elton and the surrounding area.

Sandy had an unmistakable, unshakeable, and unmovable faith.  She was an example of kindness, godliness and was a prayer warrior.  She always wore a smile and if you requested, she pray for you, you could rest assured she did!

Sandy was a 'good Samaritan'.  Many are the times she picked up children and even entire families to bring them to and from church, often feeding them lunch in between services.

Sandy was much loved in her church family as well as the community.  She sold pies, peanut brittle, and bar-b-ques plates lunches for years to help finance the Pentecostal Church.  She was always the top seller.  She sponsored children for camps, Youth Congress and All State Youth Choir…She spent years each Saturday visiting and praying for those in her community. She did Jail ministry, Cell Group Bible Study, Home Bible Study and loved to sing.

Sandy enjoyed flowers, a good game of Scrabble and gospel music. She was a great cook, never met a stranger and kept a positive attitude even in times of adversity.

Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her most prized earthly treasures.  Teaching her family about Jesus remained her focus until her passing.

Sandy will be missed by many-only heaven will tell all she invested into others.

Those left to cherish Sandy's memory include her two daughters, Daronda Robinson, and husband Joe, of Elton, LA, and Debbie Royer, and husband Blane, of Elton, LA;  one brother, Leroy Bryce of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Chanyon Robinson (Tara), Brooke Young (Ruston), Kyler Royer (Cheyenne LeLeaux), Kelsey Royer (Sarah), and Ali Sylestine (Jonavon Willis), 10 great grandchildren, Noah, Trace, Jensen, Carrigan, Reagan, Jadon, Tatom, Aralyn, Crew, and Emersyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick "Pat" Bryce, and Henry Etta "Henrietta" Brown; her husband, Ronald Roy Kennedy; one daughter, Erin Davis; and one brother, Dwayne Bryce.

Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Sandy's family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
