Elton-Funeral service for Sammy Celestine, 66, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 with a singing service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Sammy was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was a big teddy bear with a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Sammy was a friend to all. He enjoyed eating with his family and riding around on his scooter. He especially enjoyed spending time with all children. Sammy liked reading his Bible, and he knew it like the back of his hand. He loved T.V. Land where he enjoyed watching old westerns. Sammy will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Those left to cherish Sammy's memory include his three daughters, Stacy Cernek, Kisa Lantz, and Sammi Jo Celestine all of Elton; one brother, Carlton Celestine and wife, Linda, of Elton; one sister, Dianna Shuff and husband, David, of Elton; six grandchildren, Dakota, Landon, Annie, Onyx, Landon, and Bryson; three nieces, Sara Sawyer, Kara Martin, and Jacquelyn Shuff; and three nephews, Josh, Jacob, and Lucas Celestine.
Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Madeline Celestine; spouse, Dale Celestine; one brother, Michael Celestine; and one nephew, Brooks Celestine.
